Controlling moisture around bins

Controlling moisture around bins can be a monumental task in any environment. Add the fact that Belize gets 60 inches of rain annually and moisture becomes a huge issue. For this Belizian bin site, the answer was spray foam insulation.

How can insulation control moisture?

Closed-cell spray foam insulation is unique in that it has the ability to expand and fill every crack and crevice. At one inch thick, it creates a moisture barrier that prevents water from seeping into the bin.

Proper Water Drainage

Spray foam insulation is installed with water drainage in mind. Philip Bulfer, owner and spray foam technician, realizes the importance of a quality installation. “Installing the spray foam insulation to create water drainage is very important,” said Bulfer. “It takes a little bit of extra time, but proper water drainage doesn’t happen without it.”

That is awesome that adding spray foam insulation can help control moisture. I would agree that moisture in your home is something that you would definitely want to avoid. I will remember to use this article to help me better understand how to properly insulate my home. Thank you for sharing!
